RWDM Announces New Sports Staff
RWDM announce that they have appointed Claudio Caçapa to take over the management of the club's first team with immediate effect. The Brazilian T1 will be supported in his duties by Anderson Luiz dos Santos Valiñas (T2) and Igor De Camargo (T3).

Claudio Caçapa, a former footballer who notably worked for Newcastle Utd and Olympique Lyonnais as well as for the Brazilian national team, arrived in Belgium this morning and will meet the players with his staff this afternoon.

After having worked as assistant coach at Olympique Lyonnais since 2016, Claudio had a first successful experience as T1 since he was in charge of Botafogo FR, currently at the head of the Brazilian first division.
The new T1 of RWDM has a solid experience of European football thanks to his past as a player as well as his experience acquired at OL as an assistant. He also has extensive knowledge of two clubs owned by Eagle Football Holdings. This is in line with the vision of Mr. John Textor who wants to “establish a strong relationship between the different clubs in the group, which will help the RWDM to win”.

Claudio Caçapa will be able to rely on two assistants. Anderson Luiz dos Santos Valiñas went through Clube Atlético Mineiro (Brazil), Vitória Sport Clube (Portugal) and Seongnam IC (South Korea) as a player. He has served as T1 in various youth teams in Brazil, and has been gaining T2 experience since 2020 on the benches of Serie B. Person of confidence of coach Caçapa, he brings all his expertise to the club, especially in the development of young talents.

Igor De Camargo, in possession of the UEFA A diploma, will bring added value to the sports staff thanks to his excellent knowledge of our championship and the RWDM, where he first made his professional debut before ending his career there in May 2022.

The identity of the new goalkeeping coach will be confirmed later. Gianni Chiffi, physical trainer and Arthur Snoeks, video analyst, will continue their current function in collaboration with the new sports staff.
